The Rockledge City Council, Community Redevelopment Agency, and the Citizens Advisory Board to the CRA, have worked for several years to design, fund, and permit an infrastructure and streetscape project for Barton Boulevard.

This $8M investment includes substantial underground work: stormwater management improvements, piping some of the open ditches, and replacement of some of the sewer lines and force mains.

Above ground, you’ll see new medians, new curb and gutter, sidewalks, landscaping, decorative lighting, new Mast Arm Traffic Lights, new signage, intersection improvements and resurfacing of the entire Roadway.

The project limits extend from just east of Jack Oates Boulevard (on the east end to just east) of Fiske Boulevard on the west end. The project will start at the west end. The City has made sure that 2 lanes of traffic will be open at all times.

The purpose of this project is to make physical and aesthetic improvements to our commercial center so that over time, we will stimulate new private sector investment and re-investment is our commercial core.
